When users navigate through the EBS menu, encountering an APEX login page can be frustrating and disrupt their workflow. Ideally, users should be automatically directed to the correct APEX page, fully authenticated and authorized—this is what we call "seamless integration."

Eclipsys Solutions has developed a custom authentication scheme that leverages active EBS session data to automatically log users into APEX, bypassing the need for an additional login page. With the ability to switch authentication schemes in-session, our EBS-APEX applications support both seamless EBS integration and standalone authentication, offering flexibility and an enhanced user experience.

Licensing the Oracle Database for use with EBS is often done under “Limited Use” terms, commonly referred to as “Application Specific Full Use” (ASFU). These licenses offer customers discounted commercial terms but come with restrictions on software usage, such as prohibiting custom changes to the application or underlying database schema. This has been the standard for many organizations purchasing Oracle EBS over the years.

Alternatively, some customers opt for “Full Use” licenses, which have no such restrictions, allowing the Oracle Database to be used beyond just supporting EBS.
